EPA awards grant to educate students on watersheds

The US Environmental Protection Agency has awarded an $80,000 grant to the Pacific American Foundation of Kāne'ohe to improve environmental science education by increasing the

interest of Hawai'i youth in science, technology, engineering and math through culturally relevant eunieulum and meaningful outdoor watershed educational experiences. "Hawai'i's watersheds are unique," said Jared Blumenfeld, EPA's Regional Administrator of the Pacific southwest. "The Pacific American Foundation will teach the next generation of scientists to protect and manage these critical natural resources."
