Eia Hawai'i, Ka Huina 0 keAo Here is Hawai'i at the Crossroads ofthe World In the middle of the vast Moananuiākea, Hawai'i lies at the crossroads of a rapidly changing world - the intersection of heaven and earth, of east and west, of tradition and innovation. The global pandemic of 2020-2022 has further accelerated the changes already compelling us to reimagine our future. Our collective success in preserving the Hawai'i we love for future generations is dependent upon our ability to navigate this intersection. Literally translated, KA HUINA refers to an intersection or nexus. This term serves as the central theme to the Native Hawaiian Hospitality Association's upcoming two-day virtual conference, whieh explores the nexus - the huina - of eommunity, culture, tourism and sustainability. These are four distinct pillars leaning upon one another for support, ultimately bringing foundation and structure toward our goals for a regenerative tourism future. How they intersect, how they depend on eaeh other, how they allow us to reimagine our future - these are the opportunities Ka Huina seeks to uncover and celebrate.
