Hawai'i Island Chamber of Commerce Hosts its Annual Meeting

Hui 'Oihnnn, Hnwni'i lslnnd's Native Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce held its onnuol membership luneheon on October 12 ot the Hilo Howoiion Hotel in Hilo. The event wos ottended by over 80 business owners, nonprofit ond community leoders, government officiols ond residents ond co-sponsored by the Office of Howoiion Affoirs (OHA), the Council for Notive Howoiion Advoncement (CNHA), ond loeol Hilo-bosed businesses Creotive Arts ond Aiono Cor Soles. Tbe meeting focused on the impoct of Notive Howoiion culture on business, community plonning and the future direction for Hawai'i County. CNHA CEO Kūhiō Lewis was the keynote speoker. Other speakers included Councilwoman Sue Lee Loy, KU A KANAKA executive director Dr. Kū Kohakalau, and former Boy Clinic CEO Dr. Kimo Alameda. Chamber President Benson Medina closed the event with a talk about connection, community and culture.
